Our People

Rohit Krishna

Project Manager

After graduating from McMaster University with a BA in Finance and Marketing Rohit took what he thought was going to be an interim job as a Sales Agent. That was four years ago. Today Rohit manages a team of 14 that is responsible for all call center reporting as well as workforce management for S&P’s entire Canadian operation. This means providing vital information for more than 1000 people in S&P Data’s Canadian operation.

Here’s how Rohit’s career progressed. 6 months after joining the company Rohit was promoted to Team Leader in the sales group. Two years later he was promoted again to be part of a cross-functional Outbound Sales program in support of a US based Fortune 500 Company. This gave Rohit the opportunity to learn more about the S&P business and importantly provided daily exposure to top management.  For Rohit this reinforced the overall culture of S&P Data that provided an environment where team members are encouraged to learn from one another, share insights and build success together.

Rohit has observed that at S&P Data, Senior Management is involved in all aspects of the business and have an open door policy for anyone at the company. This works well to promote the goal of getting a greater understanding of business processes. What’s more, it provides institutionalized on-the-job training from some of the most experienced people in the contact center industry.

Craig Jonasson

Senior Operations Manager

Craig came to S&P Data after a series of odd jobs including a number of gigs as a line cook. He had done some call center work too and a friend who worked at S&P suggested that Craig take a look at the company. Craig entered a program for inbound customer service and sales, finding the work stimulating and the sales process fun. But it was the incentive based compensation plan that really turned Craig on. After his first performance bonus he was sold on S&P.

After 6 months of being on the phones Craig volunteered to help struggling members of his team. He enjoyed the coaching aspect of this experience and applied for a manager position. He was promoted to Team Leader and Manager soon after that working with others to help them develop and thrive. Craig believes strongly that by helping others he has honed his skills as well.

One year after being promoted to Team Leader, Craig was put in charge of bringing in new team members and training both agents and managers alike. This gave Craig significant exposure to the operations side of the business with his next career step being Operations Manager in an inbound sales program. Craig now is running this group. It’s a long way from line cooking to Senior Operations Manager, but Craig found the way at S&P Data.

Wes Chiasson

Senior Operations Manager

Wes has had an enduring interest in competitive sports. He attended Brock University and studied Sports Management, worked for the Hamilton Bulldogs professional ice hockey team and managed a sports retail chain. After all of these experiences he realized that opportunities in the sports world were limited and he shifted his career to a job at S&P Data.

Like many people at the company Wes started on the phones doing in-bound sales. He learned that selling over the phone was a lot different that in-person sales. Wes credits his Team Leader with helping him discover how to build rapport with customers and then excel in this sales role.

After a year on the phones Wes was given the opportunity to move into the Workforce Management Department. This group built schedules and planned staffing for inbound sales initiatives. In this position Wes gained greater knowledge of running the outbound dialer and developing a successful outbound dialing strategy.

Wes’s career evolved in mid 2013 as he was promoted to Operation Manager for a Winback Sales team. He led a group of 60 people tasked with winning back customers who had dropped a valuable monthly subscription service. S&P Data was competing with two other firms for winback sales during this period, and through Wes’s efforts S&P Data performed better than the two other firms combined.

Today Wes is a Senior Operations Manager with responsibility for three locations and the supervision of 225 people. Wes has taken his competitive drive and has applied it well for his (and S&P Data’s) good.

Michelle is a people person. That’s apparent as she has helped S&P Data recruit new employees, helped people at the company get promoted and help the advance the overall growth of S&P’s Hamilton, Ontario location.

Like many people at S&P Data Michelle started as a Telephone Sales Representative (TSR) and then used this experience to grow. Michelle views the team at Hamilton as family. She’s committed to hiring and the encouraging all team members so that their experiences are welcoming and rewarding.
